I enjoy a cigar but Lo, she is a terrible Goddess, has always banished me to the great outdoors to have a drag. She banishes me to the great outdoors for other reasons as well but I don't really feel comfortable talking about that. That particular problem has been alleviated by my soon to be patented invention of stuffing odour eaters down the back of my pants.
I digress.
During the hurricane of 1987 I was to be seen tied by a stout rope to a fence post, trying to light a cigar with a flame-thrower.
I have been thrown out during thunder storms and had to rely on lightening strikes to 'spark up'.
Snow, wind and hail have all been overcome and I am a better man for it.
The new, young generation of smokers will have to learn to be as tough and as resilient as I am. They should be proud of the taxes they are paying, and of the strength of will needed to continue smoking against the opposition of the anti-smoking fascists....................but I would also like to say...
I don't like cyclists but it would never occur to me to try and ban them......run them over, push them off cliffs or throw ice-creams at them, yes, but not make them illegal. They have their cycle lanes and smokers should have smoking areas. AND another thing, I think that cars should have bloody great signs on them saying "DRIVING KILLS AND MAIMS'.
Good, I feel for better for that........... phew.
