Regular readers will have discovered that I make sculptures and draw drawings. I post a picture every now and again.
There's loads of other stuff I do as well.
I have more sculptures in my head than exist in the real world; it's a matter of deciding if it's worth the effort and expense of actually making them. The process of working always leads on to something else but there are definitely some sculptures that are quite happy where they are.
For instance there's one [in my head] that is made up of a small pack of carved wooden dogs. In front of the pack is a larger dog that has had the Daddypapersurfer treatment - it's been covered in sheet lead. This dog is wearing a lead, also made out of lead, that is being pulled by an invisible hand.
It would be possible to make this sculpture, although some high-tech materials would have to be used to support the weight of the lead and the making of all the dogs would take forever.
I can see the whole thing sitting in an empty room and looking fantastic - and that is how it will remain - a fantasy.
What made me think of this? Word play, which as you've probably gathered is a constant fascination. The title of the sculpture would be:-
'Lead lead, led lead lead dog' - [you might have to go through that a few times].
Anyway, one of the reasons I'm enjoying this blogging lark is that it is a fascinating medium.
I can hide in cupboards, I can direct people to other parts of the world that I've never been to but that I've got to know a little about by getting involved with other bloggers; I can play with words, I can show-off; I'm learning how to use punctuation to express how things are said etc..
I've only discovered the tip of the iceberg; I can't get my head round a lot of the technicalities, or all the complex structures of the blogging community. I'm keeping it relatively simple at the moment; one blogging community, Fuelmyblog; a post every day [if I can manage it], putting up the odd photograph, a blogroll and that's about it.
Mind you, at the moment I'm also a 'supply' blogger [think substitute teacher] in the Big Blogger Diary Room, I'm stuck in a cupboard on the Fuelmyblog forum attempting to make the longest thread in the world [there's no rush], the terrible Goddess has been constructing a secret research facility somewhere in the Blogosphere for me and there are some people that I try and visit every day!
Oh and by the way, I also have a life in the real world.
(There's a real world? Lo,TG Ed)
The title? - oh, there is a way where you can have 5 'ands' in a row that makes sense.
