“I’ve cooked for you for 40 years - it’s your turn.”
Fair enough.
It would be impossible to relate all the skills that I’ve learnt but the tin opener does play a large part. [Actually that’s not completely true. Baked beans have those easy open ring pulls that work 50% of the time. I’ve got quite handy with a mini-chain saw and a hammer and chisel when the ring pull pulls off – although there have been complaints from the neighbours about noise pollution and falling ceilings.]
Tonight, we will be enjoying a tinned Fray Bentos Steak and Ale pie with frozen green beans, frozen peas, tinned new potatoes and a tin of carrots.
I shall, of course, be making a tower with the veggies and artistically arranging skid marks around the rectangular plate. Eat your heart out Heston Blumenthal!
I’m hoping the TG will come to her senses soon. (What, and forego culinary treats like that. Lo, TG Ed)
I've noticed that there is another blogger honing their culinary skills - Diane will soon be up to my standard I'm sure.
