Penfold stayed with us for one night on his way to do some canoodling in Canada ……… mmmmmmmmmm.

Anyway, his PC lappytop had lost it’s ability to ‘high five’ on the wi-fi. There are various telephone points in the apartment so using an old router I’ve got, he tried plugging in to them but to no avail.

I left him to play with himself in the bedroom. BIG MISTAKE. (You never were any good at supervising them. Lo,TG Ed)

Feeling fidgety he started fiddling with the panic button on the burglar alarm system and managed to set it off. The whole apartment building started asirening and aflashing. The neighbours rushed out of their apartments with their hands over their ears – the noise was tremendous.
Now, unfortunately, when we moved in we were given no information about the alarm, we’ve never felt the need to set it [it being a Gated Community and all] and haven’t bothered to find out about it . [I would quite like a visit from a burglar actually, so that I can replace the TV, DVD player and the wireless………. and anyway, Gertrude would probably see him/her off. (Luckily he was on a retreat for depressed llamas this weekend – I think he would have found the alarm very alarming)].

Soooooo, we had no idea of the code to switch the wailing and flashing off. Eventually a neighbour who knew the default code turned up and, thank heavens, it worked.

Still, we met a lot of people that we’d never seen, including the folks next door – after all we’ve only been here for a year. It’s a shame we’ll be moving out soon.
