I have given up playing chess on several occasions.



The first time was when Tiggz beat me when he was aged 8. Penfold wasn’t a problem as, apparently, I never, ever played with him at all.

Later on, I bought an electronic chess game – nightmare – so I gave up again.

A few years on, I decided to play myself ……. and I still lost.

Where’s that grandson when I need him?
