On the first option menu select ‘sales’, whatever your problem is, as that usually means that you get hold of a human being immediately ……. mmmmm, how strange!!
At this point you say “Oh, I’m terribly sorry, I pressed the wrong button. Could you put me through to the person dealing with rabbit infestations in cooker hoods?”, and 9 times out of 10 you will be talking to the person who’s meant to be dealing with your particular problem far quicker than going through 5 or 6 or 100 menu options.
